U6 Festival Oleai Elementary School - October 2, 2011
The Saturday October 2 U6 Festival was hosted by Shirley's Football Club at Oleai Elementary School. Over 40 U6 kids turned out for this festival. There was 4 stations that focused on dribbling, shooting, and small sided games. Thanks to Shirley's football club for a great festival, and thanks to Jeanne Hodges for the photos!
Congratulations new E license coaches!
Congratulations Paire coaches Mason, Hannah and JR for completing the E license coarse! Way to go!! The coarse instructions were Coach Seki and Paire's own Coach Patty.
PAIRE SOCCER JAMBOREE
The Paire Soccer Jamboree on Saturday August 27 was a big success. We apologize to those parents that did not receive word that the venue changed from Airport Field to Ada Gym Field. There were over 50 returning players that registered in all age groups plus several new players.
At the Jamboree, there were four stations each manned by Paire coaches. One station focused on shooting (goal shots), one on dribbling, one on passing, and one on scrimmaging.
After the Jamboree - the U15 players challenged the coaches to a scrimmage. The coaches couldn't say no - so they quickly put together a team including a few U12 and U10 players and visiting Japanese players. The first several minutes of the game saw most of the action on the coaches end of the field. It takes a while for those old legs to get warmed up. But by the end of the games, the coaches showed those U15s that they still got it! Coaches rule!

Where are our new uniforms?
We had some shipping problems with our uniform and ball order for the Fall 2011 season. Here is a recap of what happened.
Tuesday November 29 update: The men's jersey's finally arrived in the mail yesterday. This completes all the jerseys orders to date.
Saturday November 12 update: the jerseys were picked up from the printers on Friday. Over 15 jerseys were distributed on Saturday before or during games. If you have not yet received a jersey (and were supposed to have received one) please let your coach know, or email[email protected], and we'll get one to you as soon as possible.
Tuesday November 8 update: the jerseys (the original order from September) arrived in the mail yesterday (Monday November 7, 2011). They had been sent via parcel post which is why it took so long. I took the jersey's to the printers today to have the Paire/Docomo logos added. They should be ready by Saturday's games.
Monday November 7 update: I received some strange e-mails from UPS over the weekend regarding our replacement jerseys. I went to the UPS store on Saipan on Monday and asked them to check the status of the package and I found out that the package had been sent to SPAIN! Maybe that is what happened to our original packages? As of noon on November 7, the package has left Spain, and travelled through Koeln, Germany.
Friday November 4 update: I have been on the phone with soccer.com several times the past month enquiring about the order. Since we needed the jerseys before the end of the season,soccer.com has sent us a replacement order of the jerseys via UPS. Hopefully the jerseys will arrive before the soccer festival on November 19.
Monday October 31 update: For those new and returning players this year that paid the $15 for a new jersey - you may be wondering where are the uniforms? An order was placed on September 20, 2011 with soccer.com for 120 new balls and 120 new jerseys (of varying sizes). It took a couple of days to work out the shipping method and postage charge, but the order was finalized on September 23. We insisted on shipping via USPS Priority Mail, which is generally pretty fast and economical. There was no way Paire could afford shipping via FedEx, UPS or DHL. A confirmation e-mail from soccer.com was received on that day saying that the order was confirmed and that they would start working on it. In addition to the balls and jerseys, 10 ball bags were ordered. Apparently these were special order items, and were going to add 7-10 days to get the bags sent from the manufacturer to soccer.com so they could include the bags in the total shipment.
An e-mail was received on October 1 stating that the complete order had been shipped. Items shipped USPS Priority Mail usually arrive within 10 days of being shipped. That means that if the items were shipped USPS Priority Mail, they should have arrived on Saipan on or around October 10. Well it is now Monday October 31 and the balls, bags, and jerseys are still not here. My only conclusion is that the jerseys, balls and bags were not shipped via USPS Priority Mail, but were shipped USPS Parcel Post. Parcel Post (traveling surface by cargo ship) usually takes 3 months to arrive. That means that we may not see the balls or jerseys until after Christmas.
The youth league is not the only ones waiting for uniforms by the way. The Paire men's league placed an order with soccer.com on October 5 for 6 jerseys. An e-mail was received later the same day (October 5) that the order had been shipped via USPS Priority Mail. As of today October 31, the jerseys have not been received on Saipan.
