2012 Spring Season
U12 CUP
On Wednesday May 16 the Paire U12 Cup team battled Shirely's FC Girls U15 team. The Cup is a single elimination tournament, so there can be no ties. One team has to win and one team has to loose each game. At the end of regular playing time - the score was tied 0 to 0 and the game went into extra time. At the end of extra time - the score was still tied so the game moved to shoot-outs. The Paire U12 team lost in the shoot-out, but what a way to go. Good job team! Here is a message from Coach Patty:

Dear parents,
Hope this e-mail finds you all well.
As you know by now, our Cup team lost to the Shirley's U15 Girls (who are ranked #1 in the U15 girls league and who are undefeated) in a penalty kick shoot out.
I apologize if your child did not get to play in the match yesterday, but certain decisions had to be made so that we could compete against a faster, bigger, taller, and more experienced team. We had 18 players yesterday whereas the ideal number of players to have on the roster for 8v8 is much less. Many coaches prefer around 12-13 players for an 8v8 team.
Thank you for bringing your child to the practices, parents. I would like to also thank Coach Falangi for agreeing to volunteer coach. He did a particularly excellent job coaching Felix (the goalkeeper yesterday) and I am thankful that he has used his knowledge and experience as a coach and player to further develop our youth. I would also like to thank Coach John for his assistance as well and for scouting some of our players. Coach John's teaching experiencing has proven useful, particularly when the players are having a hard time focusing.
As a coach, you have to take the good and the bad and learn from both. I did the best I could with the short time that I coached our Cup team, but I always look to improving.
Our team is the youngest in the Cup, I believe, so hopefully your child will have the opportunity to compete in the next Cup which is scheduled for Spring 2013.
Sincerely and with regards,
Coach Patty
