The Tan Holdings FC and Paire FC will open the 2013 NMIFA Fall Youth League when they collide at 5:30pm, while Matansa FC and Shirley’s FC meet in the second match of the opening day at 7:30pm. Five teams make up the boys U15 field with many-time champion MP United FC drawing a bye in the kick-off day. MP United will play its debut game this season on Sept. 20 when it duels perennial rival Paire FC in the first game, while Shirley’s FC and Tan Holdings FC will slug out in out in the second game. Completing this month’s schedule are the Tan Holdings and Matansa tiff in the first match and the MP United and Shirley’s FC game.
The five competing teams will play in a double-round robin regular season to determine the season champion and all matches will be played at the Oleai pitch.
Besides the boys U15 competition, this year’s fall league will also have games in the girls U15, boys U18, and co-ed U6, U8, U10, and U12.
Matches in the girls U15 will be played at the Hopwood Junior High School Field every Saturday.
Tomorrow, Tan Holdings FC will battle Paire on Pitch 1 at 3pm, while on Pitch 2, Matansa FC will take on Shirley’s FC. MP United completes the field and will see action next Saturday against Paire FC. Also set for Sept. 21 is the game between Shirley’s FC and Tan Holdings. The girls U15 division will have a double round-robin format, too, with the team to top the standings getting the season championship.
In the boys U18 division, only three teams are entered—Paire FC, Tan Holdings, and MP United. Every team will play six games and each match is set for Saturday. Tan Holdings and Paire FC will open action in the U18 at 9am at the Oleai pitch.
The boys U18 and U15 and girls U15 leagues are competitive ones (scores are officially recorded) and after the regular season, qualifying teams will be participating in the FA Challenge Cup.
The other divisions are for development and drills and small-sided games (for U6) will take place on various elementary school fields.
In the U6 division, six teams are participating—Matansa FC, Shirley’s FC, Tan Holdings FC, MP United FC, and Kanoa FC. All activities will start at 4:30pm with Matansa playing at Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School, Paire at Dandan, Shirley’s at Oleai, Tan Holdings at San Antonio, MP United at Navy Hill, and Kanoa at William S. Reyes Elementary School.
In the U8 division, which will have actual games, three clubs—Paire, MP United, and Kanoa—have two teams apiece, while Matansa, Shirley’s, and Tan Holdings have one each. Newcomer Tinian Premier FC completes the field. All 10 teams will play tomorrow at the various school pitches with Tan Holdings meeting Paire 1 at 3:15 pm in San Antonio. Other games tomorrow are Paire 2 vs Kanoa 1; Matansa vs Kanoa 2, Shirley’s vs MP United 1, and MP United 2 vs Tinian. The U8 division has a round-robin format.
The U10 division also has a round-robin format and lures 9 teams. Paire and MP United have two apiece and will challenge Tan Holdings, Shirley’s, Kanoa, Matansa, and Tinian. Four games will be played tomorrow and each match will start at 2:15 at the different school pitches.
The U12 division has the most teams with 12. Leading the field are the three teams of MP United, while Paire, Tan Holdings, and Kanoa have two each. Rounding out the division are Matansa, Shirley’s, and Tinian. U10 games will start at 1pm and five matches are set every Saturday.
